Frequently Asked Questions

What if my “child” is not well behaved at times?

Not to worry… sometimes the best shots can be candid shots. Patience, some tried and true techniques and toys can be used to get the shot we are looking for. Once your pup becomes acclimated to the situation he or she will be having fun before they know it and smiling for me.

What if my dog has to be on leash?

During photo sessions, dogs are almost always on leashes but you would never know it! I have special leashes that are easy to remove from the images during the photo editing process.

Use the image comparison slider below to watch the dog leashes disappear!

Do you photograph others types of animals?

I exclusively photograph just dogs … and occasionally a mountain lion or a little bear cub.

What if I have more than 2 dogs?

Session packages allows for 2 dogs from same household. Additional dogs would $50.00 per dog up to 4 dogs per session. If you have more pups please email yvette@toothedogs.com and that can be arranged it will just require more planning.

Can I be in the photos?

Absolutely! I encourage it to showcase the bond you and your pup have.

Are unedited photos included in any of the packages?

No. Only the professionally edited images are included photo session packages.

Do you offer Gift Certificates?

Yes. Any of my sessions can be a gift for that special dog lover in your life.

How do I choose the location for my session?

Location, Location Location … Scenic locations such as the beach, park or garden area will produce more interesting and colorful images.

Location also greatly depends on the confidence, age and size of your pup. If you have puppy and the little guy hasn’t had all of the necessary shots a home environment would be best.

Senior dogs might also work better at home. If photo session is in your home windows and light in the room will be necessary.

The best images will be when your pup is comfortable and self assured so just bear that in mind when choosing your location.

What if weather turns bad day of the photo session?

Since I use natural light for my photography time of day is crucial to the session and of course good weather too. If weather turns out not to be ideal such as too hot, windy or rainy the day of your session, we will absolutely reschedule to get the best photo session possible.
